Terms and conditions

Working draft of 20 October 2026

These terms govern the sale of laptops through the SipherTip online shop. Please read them before ordering: by placing an order you confirm that you have read and accept them.

1. Who we are

The SipherTip online shop is operated by TIIN S.R.L., a Romanian company:

  • Company name: TIIN S.R.L.
  • Unique registration code (CUI): 49544587
  • Trade Register number: J40/2461/2024
  • Registered office: Str. Nerva Traian nr. 27-33, Sc. B, Et. 1, Birou 6, Sector 3, 031044 București
  • Email: contact@siphertip.com
  • Phone / WhatsApp: +40 756 571 839

In these terms, “we” or “the seller” means TIIN S.R.L., and “you” or “the buyer” means the person placing the order.

2. Definitions

  • Consumer – an individual buying for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
  • Business buyer – a company or a self-employed person (PFA, II, IF etc.) buying for their business. At checkout you select “Company / self-employed” and enter the billing details. What counts is the purpose of the purchase, not the legal form: if you are self-employed but buy the laptop for personal use, you are a consumer and select “Individual”.
  • Unit – one specific laptop, identified by a unique code (e.g. ST-00421). Each product page shows a single unit.
  • Order – a request to buy a unit, placed on the website and paid online.
  • Contract – the distance sales contract between us and the buyer, made up of these terms, the unit page and the order confirmation.
  • Order page – the personal page of your order, opened from the link in our emails, without an account.

3. Products: used and refurbished laptops

We sell used and refurbished laptops, not new products. We check every unit before listing it, and any signs of use are described on its page.

Each unit page shows the specifications, condition grade, battery health (percentage and cycle count), cosmetic notes, commercial warranty length and price. The photos and the test video show the exact unit you receive, not stock images.

Condition grades:

  • Grade A – Excellent: Looks almost new; minimal marks visible only up close.
  • Grade B – Good: Light signs of use, no impact on how it works.
  • Grade C – Fair: Visible wear (scratches, small dents), works perfectly.

The grade describes appearance. All units are sold in working order, except for defects explicitly stated on their page. The battery is a consumable part: its capacity naturally decreases with use, and the percentage shown is what we measured during testing.

Every unit is one of a kind. Once sold, it can no longer be ordered, and its page stays online marked “Sold”.

4. Prices and currency

Prices are shown in Romanian lei (RON). You can also choose to see prices in euro (EUR): each unit has a fixed euro price set by us, not converted at the daily rate. You pay in the currency selected when you start the order, exactly the amount shown on the payment page.

Any currency conversion fees charged by your bank are outside our control.

VAT: [to be confirmed with the accountant: VAT included / special scheme for second-hand goods].

Delivery is charged separately and shown before payment (see “Delivery”). We may change prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders already paid.

5. Ordering and contract formation

  1. Choose a unit and tap “Buy with card”. Enter your name, email, phone, buyer type (“Individual” or “Company / self-employed”, with billing details) and choose the delivery (see “Delivery”). You enter the delivery or contact address on the payment page. No account needed.
  2. We send you to the secure Stripe payment page. While the payment page is open (about 30 minutes), the unit is reserved for you and shows as “Reserved” to other visitors. If payment is not completed in that time, the reservation expires and the unit becomes available again.
  3. The contract is formed when Stripe confirms your payment. We then email you the order confirmation with a link to your order page, where you can check its status at any time.

Until you pay, you can correct your details by going back to the order form.

In the rare case that a payment arrives after the reservation expired and the unit was sold to someone else in the meantime, the order cannot be fulfilled: we automatically refund the full amount and let you know by email.

The contract is concluded in Romanian. This English version of the terms is provided for information; if the versions differ, the Romanian version prevails.

We keep a record of your order. The order confirmation, emailed right after payment, and the invoice, emailed within 3 business days, are your copy of the contract.

6. Payment

Payment is made online by card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device supports them) through Stripe, a licensed payment processor. Cash on delivery is not available yet.

You enter your card details directly on the Stripe page; we never see or store them. Your bank may ask for extra authentication (3-D Secure). The payment appears on your statement with a description containing SIPHERTIP.

We issue the tax invoice in the name of the person or company on the order and email it to you as a PDF within 3 business days of payment confirmation. You can also download it at any time from your order page.

Refunds (after a withdrawal, or when an order cannot be fulfilled) go back to the card used for payment.

7. Delivery

We deliver by courier to addresses in Romania and to a parcel locker or pick-up point in Romania (easybox (Sameday), FANbox (Fan Courier)) that you choose at checkout. For now we do not deliver outside Romania. Personal pickup is not available.

Courier delivery in Romania costs 25 RON (or €5 if you pay in euro), and delivery to a pick-up point 25 RON (or €5). Delivery in Romania is free for orders of at least 1,500 RON (or €300). You see the cost of the delivery you choose before paying, on the order form and on the payment page.

You enter the delivery address on the payment page. For a pick-up point you choose the network and type the point’s name or ID and the town, and enter your contact address on the payment page. If the point does not exist, is closed or full, we contact you and agree on another point of the same network or courier delivery to your address, at no extra cost.

We usually hand the parcel to the courier within 1–2 working days of payment confirmation; delivery usually takes 24–48 hours in Romania. The maximum delivery time is 30 days from the contract date. When we ship, you receive the tracking number (AWB) by email. For a pick-up point, the courier sends you the pick-up code; the parcel waits there for as long as that network allows, then comes back to us.

The risk of loss or damage passes to you when you, or a person you designate (other than the courier), take physical possession of the laptop (for a pick-up point: when you collect it). Please check the parcel on receipt and tell us straight away about any visible damage to the packaging.

8. Right of withdrawal (14-day return) – consumers only

If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days without giving any reason and without costs other than those below, under Government Emergency Ordinance (OUG) no. 34/2014. The period runs from the day you, or a person you designate (other than the courier), take physical possession of the laptop.

Before the period expires, tell us about your decision with a clear statement, in any of these ways:

  • by email to contact@siphertip.com, or by replying to the order confirmation email;
  • using the withdrawal form below (optional; any clear statement is enough).

Your order page (the link in the confirmation email) also shows the deadline and the steps, under “14-day returns”.

You meet the deadline if you send your message before the 14 days expire. We confirm receipt by email.

Send the laptop back with the accessories you received, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day you told us you are withdrawing. We email you the return address and shipping instructions. You meet the deadline if you send the laptop before the 14 days expire.

You bear the direct cost of returning the laptop, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Before returning it, back up your data, delete your personal files and sign out of your accounts (e.g. Apple ID / “Find My” or your Microsoft account) so we can inspect and reset the laptop.

We refund all payments received from you, including the delivery fee if you paid one (the amount shown on your order for the delivery you chose), within 14 days of the day we are informed of your withdrawal. The refund goes back to the card used for payment, at no cost to you. We may withhold the refund until we have received the laptop back or you have supplied proof of sending it, whichever comes first.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the laptop resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning (e.g. physical damage or missing parts). Switching it on and testing it as you would in a shop does not affect your refund.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to companies and other business buyers. For them, the commercial warranty and the seller’s liability under the Romanian Civil Code still apply.

9. Withdrawal form

Model withdrawal form, as set out in Annex 2 to OUG no. 34/2014. Complete and return it only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.

To help us find your order quickly, please also include the laptop code (e.g. ST-00421) and the email address you used to order.

10. Legal guarantee of conformity (consumers)

We are liable to consumers for any lack of conformity existing at delivery, under OUG no. 140/2021. The laptop must match the description on its page (including the condition grade and cosmetic notes), have the features shown, and be fit for the normal use of a used laptop of that age and type.

For second-hand goods, the law allows the liability period to be shortened by agreement, but not below 1 year from delivery. We do not shorten it: the applicable period is 2 years from delivery.

A lack of conformity that becomes apparent within one year of delivery is presumed to have existed at delivery, unless we prove otherwise or the presumption is incompatible with the nature of the goods or of the lack of conformity. Normal wear, including the natural loss of battery capacity, and signs of use described on the unit page are not a lack of conformity.

If the laptop is not in conformity, you are entitled, free of charge:

  • to have it brought into conformity by repair or replacement. Because every unit is one of a kind, replacement may be impossible; in that case we may offer you an equivalent unit, only with your agreement;
  • to a proportionate price reduction or to terminate the contract (you return the laptop and get your money back) if repair or replacement is impossible or disproportionate, was not carried out within a reasonable time, the lack of conformity persists, or it is serious enough to justify these remedies straight away.

Repair or replacement is carried out within a reasonable time, no longer than 15 calendar days from when you told us about the lack of conformity and made the laptop available to us, unless the nature of the problem justifies a longer period. Transport is free for you: we arrange the courier pickup.

You cannot terminate the contract if the lack of conformity is minor; the burden of proving that it is minor lies with us.

The legal guarantee applies independently of the commercial warranty and cannot be limited by it.

11. Commercial warranty

On top of the legal guarantee, every laptop comes with a commercial warranty from TIIN S.R.L., with the length in months shown on the unit page and in the order confirmation. The full conditions are on the Warranty page.

The commercial warranty applies to both consumers and business buyers and does not affect consumers’ statutory rights.

12. Limitation of liability

We are not liable for loss of data on the laptop after delivery (we recommend backups), for software you install, for faults caused by misuse, impacts, liquids or unauthorised repairs, or for delays caused by force majeure.

These limitations do not restrict or exclude your statutory rights as a consumer, in particular the right of withdrawal and the legal guarantee of conformity, and do not apply in case of intent or gross negligence on our part.

Towards business buyers, our total liability for an order is limited to the price paid for that order, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Complaints and contact

For any question or complaint, email us at contact@siphertip.com or call or message us on WhatsApp at +40 756 571 839, quoting the laptop code or the order number.

We acknowledge receipt within 2 working days and reply within 15 calendar days at the latest.

Postal address: TIIN S.R.L., Str. Nerva Traian nr. 27-33, Sc. B, Et. 1, Birou 6, Sector 3, 031044 București.

14. Dispute resolution

We try to resolve any complaint directly and amicably. If we cannot reach a solution, you can contact the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC).

As a consumer, you can also use alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

Disputes that are not settled amicably fall under the jurisdiction of the Romanian courts. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim before the court where you live.

15. Governing law

The contract is governed by Romanian law, in particular the Civil Code, OUG no. 34/2014 on consumer rights in contracts concluded with traders and OUG no. 140/2021 on certain aspects of contracts for the sale of goods.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add new payment or delivery options. Each order is governed by the terms in force when it was placed; a new version applies only to orders placed after it is published.

This is a working draft of 20 October 2026. The effective date will be set at launch, after legal review.
